A former classmate's sister was murdered by her husband a few days ago. She had two kids. Apparently she served him divorce papers a few days prior, after having dealt with him cheating on her and emotionally abusing her and the kids (not to mention threatening her). It was her birthday and she was going to church (they are Mormon and live in a Mormon community). What an entitled piece of shit. I hate men.
I made the mistake of reading comments to the newspaper article, and of course there were people who were totally defending him... OH THE POOR MENZ!!! HE HAD TO DEAL WITH ALL THE WOMEN-CENTRIC DIVORCE LAWS! SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN PACKING HEAT (even though she was shot in the back)!!! DON'T JUDGE HIM ONLY GOD CAN JUDGE HIM!!!
Argh.

I guess murder is defensible if you're only murdering a woman.
Well, you know, he was just manipulating his own property. Same way people might remove a tree from their yard or something.
Sorry, is that too caustic? I can't help it. I'm in a mood.
I understand :)
Of course you're in a mood! Women are always in a mood and get hyperemotional about *everything*. That's why they can't be trusted to make their own decisions. Clearly it was for her benefit that he shot her..she was running around, doing all kinds of crazy things like trying to break up with her beloved husband (also, I'm sure he probably only cheated because she drove him to it - it must be her fault). Boy, she sure is lucky he loved her so much. :-/
Did he think if she was out of the picture he'd get the kids and all the property? Cuz you know, I'm sure the judge will over look the fact he murdered her!! What an idiot. Now his kids don't have a mom or a dad! What a jerk!
I know how you feel...I mean, kind of. When Jason was murdered, I read the comments on the newspaper article. People were saying all kinds of awful things -- like, if you're out in the dark that early on a Sunday morning you must be up to no good and so probably deserve what you get.
Umm...there's another reason people are out and about at 7:00 a.m. on a Sunday. Like...going to the coffee house to check your e-mail before church.
**I should have said, "if you're a YOUNG guy and out in the dark early on a Sunday morning..."
I doubt anyone would have accused an elderly man of being up to no good -- drug deals and the like -- for being out and about at that time.
